Mahurangi - September 2010

Christian store one of NZ’s best

mm09christianbooks250w.jpgHeartbeat Christian Store manager Margaret Howson and trustee Grace Bassett both had their hearts skip a beat when their shop was awarded most improved Christian bookstore by the Christian Booksellers Association recently.

The awards are held annually for 38 bookstores nationwide.

Margaret, who has been managing the store for four years, says the win was a complete surprise.

Visitor surveys underpin tourism plan

Visitors to the Mahurangi region, between Puhoi and Pakiri including Kawau Island are being surveyed for their impressions of the area. The results will help shape a regional tourism plan.

New taxi-bus service investigated

A flexible taxi-bus service could be trialled in the Warkworth area as early as next year, depending on responses to a survey circulated last month.
