Rodney Art awards go out with a bang

HMARTAWARDS3_09_10_1.jpgMore than 300 artworks and about the same number of people crammed into Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa for the opening night of the final Rodney Art Awards, entitled Riches of Rodney.

Estuary Arts director David Poole said the quality as well as the quantity of entries made judging difficult, with the four out of town judges especially impressed with the quality of the children’s work.

Catwalk Arts for a good cause

Fertile imaginations and generous business owners helped raise more than $15,000 for Warkworth Wellsford Hospice at the Catwalk Arts show in September. The wearable arts show, held at Ascension Wine Estate, attracted 57 entries in five categories.

Fashion funds refurbishment

Fashion will put its best foot forward this month, with local stores showing their collections to raise funds for Hibiscus Hospice.
