About 60 people visited Scandrett Regional Park to celebrate World Heritage Day last month.
The event was an opportunity to tour the homestead and historic barn, and appreciate the restoration work that has been carried out.
Auckland Regional Council cultural heritage staff and volunteers were kept busy sharing the history of the property, which was farmed by the Scandrett family for almost 130 years.
A photo exhibition depicted the homestead and farm buildings before Auckland Regional Council’s repair and restoration work.
In 2007, the ARC won an NZ Institute of Architects heritage award for the conservation of the farm buildings.
