Top planner encourages Auckland Plan submissions

Auckland Council chief planning officer Roger Blakeley told a meeting in Warkworth on October 5 that the Auckland Plan, which closes for submissions on October 25, paints a picture of what Auckland will look like in 2041.

About 60 people attended the meeting, organised by the Warkworth Area Liaison Group.

Dr Blakely said the new Auckland Council provided a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make some transformational changes.

The audience quizzed Dr Blakely on a range of issues such as access for Puhoi on to any new highway, the deteriorating state of Mansion House, neighbourhood safety, funding for local civil defence units, funding for unsealed roads and zoning around Whangateau Harbour.

In this video report Mahurangi Matters editor Jannette Thompson asked him what sort of submissions he was looking for on the plan ….
