He reflected on his career life as a farmer, policeman, small business owner and the founder of a successful global company.

Northland MP Mike Sabin delivered his maiden speech on February 9 and spoke about his family and his journey to Parliament, beginning with service in the Navy, and then farming, as a police officer and eventually as the head of his own drug education company.

NZ First list MP and Rodney Local Board member Tracey Martin delivered her maiden speech in Parliament on February 8, defining what she believed was the role of the Opposition.

Business as usual in Rodney

The safe National Party seat of Rodney passed seamlessly from incumbent Lockwood Smith to first-time candidate Mark Mitchell on Saturday. Northland also remained loyal to National, with a convincing win by Mike Sabin.

Mitchell wins seat in Parliament

Newly-elected Rodney MP Mark Mitchell will attend his first caucus meeting in Wellington on Tuesday.

 

Martin joins NZ First in return from the wilderness

Rodney Local Board member Tracey Martin, of Warkworth, is off to Parliament as a list-MP after NZ First crossed the five percent threshold, polling about seven percent, in last night’s election.

Time for Labour to return to roots says candidate

The next three years will be a time for the Labour Party to renew its relevance and get back in touch with its core left wing support basis, according to defeated Labour candidate for Rodney Christine Rose.
