Community lunch is served

Community-Christmas-Day-Lunch-004A lunch held in the true spirit of Christmas, with an invitation extended to anyone who wishes to take part, has been held on the Coast for 13 years.

The free Christmas Day Lunch, which was initiated by Age Concern to support people who are alone on Christmas Day is now run by the Salt Community Trust and caters for more than 200 guests.

Stacey’s hair razor fundraiser

As locks of hair fell to the ground, dollars in the fundraising kitty continued to rise. An event held at Matakana House on December 3 raised just over $3000 for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.


Awards value contribution of community firefighters

A formal medal ceremony for Hibiscus Coast firefighters took place this month at the Silverdale RSA to acknowledge the time volunteers give up to serve the community.
