Festive start to Gulf Harbour’s first market day

Santa-on-Harley-Around 1000 shoppers visited the inaugural Gulf Harbour market on December 4 and came away with bags bulging with fresh produce and Christmas gifts.

Santa Claus arriving on a Harley Davidson motorcycle was a highlight of the market day, and queues for free photos with Santa, organised by Gulf Harbour Lodge, stretched around the block.

Busway slow to get into gear

The first stage of development of the Hibiscus Coast Busway Station in Silverdale has been given the green light by independent commissioners, but it will be a year before work on the second stage – the dedicated park and ride facility – will begin.

Consent issues plague Big Dig

The Big Dig, which has been a summer highlight for Coast families for more than 30 years, will go ahead next month, after a last minute waiver of Auckland Council’s resource consent requirements.
