There has been a stunned reaction to the sudden announcement on December 19 that Warkworth’s Town Hall will close at the end of March.
Rodney Local Board chairman Bob Howard says the board made the ‘safety-first’ decision after receiving a report which outlined how the facility fails current Building Code requirements.

Mahurangi College will embark on a $4.5 million building project next year, constructing a two-storey, 14-classroom block to meet the demands of the school’s accelerating roll growth.
