Mangawhai turns out for summer gala

Mangawhai_Gala_ErinBell.JPGA public meeting will be held at the Mangawhai Domain on Monday, January 19, to discuss the distribution of proceeds from this year’s successful Summer Gala.

Organisers say crowds exceeded expectations and it was probably one of the most successful gala’s on record.

Domain Committee vice-president John Dickie says a record 172 stalls, as well as additional Mangawhai_gala_lorenadams.JPGentertainment, set the scene for a great day out for the whole family. A total of about $30,000 was raised, $8000 up on last year. An estimated 6800 people attended.
The money will be spent on minor capital works at the Domain, a much-used community facility. Mr Dickie says anyone interested in discussing the distribution of the money is very welcome to attend the Monday night meeting, which will be held at the Domain, starting at 7.30pm.

Mr Dickey says the committee gratefully acknowledges the support of nearly 100 volunteers who helped on the day, and the 70 sponsors and donors, mostly local, who supported the event.
