Rain keeps water tanks topped up
Water carriers in Rodney are gearing up for a flood of enquiries if the current dry spell continues.
Rhodes for Roads general manager Brendon Henry says the demand for water has been quieter this summer as rainfall has been enough to keep tanks topped up. “We’re doing about three to four loads a day, but if January remains dry then we’re expecting the phone to start ringing hot,” he says. Mr Henry suggests householders monitor their water supply regularly by checking their tanks every four to five days. “Depending on how many people are in the household and the size of the tank, water levels can drop fairly quickly. If the weather stays dry and you think you might be running low, it would pay to get your order in sooner rather than leave it to the last minute.” |
