Council drags the chain on new Wellsford library

Wellsford residents are calling on Rodney District Council to honour its promise to build a new library. Council short-listed three proposed sites in its Wellsford Town Development Plan – next to the Four Square in Rodney Street, adjoining the Community Centre in Mathesons Rd and in Memorial Park. Kaipara rates up 4 Percent

Rates will rise by four percent in Kaipara this financial year, following the adoption of Kaipara District Council’s Long Term Council Community Plan. A special targeted rate on the Ruawai community has been approved to finance the upgrade of the Ruawai Tokatoka War Memorial Hall. A targeted rate on forestry owners will also be implemented. Hoteo Hall needs help

A small group of enthusiasts is determined to see Hoteo North Hall return to being the focus of the tiny farming community, west of Wellsford.
Fundraising is underway for renovations to the kauri building, which cost £290 to build in 1883. It served as a school until 1940, having a roll of 34 during its heyday. Read more ...
