Young netballer takes on the world

Jess_Moulds_1.JPGFormer Otamatea High School head girl Jess Moulds, 19, will compete in the World Youth Netball Tournament in the Cook Islands, in August.

Now studying in Dunedin, defender Jess has been selected for the NZ Under 21 Netball Team. She is the daughter of Ararua dairy farmers Madelaine and Mike Moulds and is studying to be a dietician.

Madelaine says Jess’ is currently playing for the Otago University club Phys Ed, which has produced a number of Silverfern players. She is a former Otamatea High School player and played for Baytex Panthers, at North Harbour, when they won the premiership in 2007.

The world youth tournament is held every four years and NZ goes into the tournament as the reigning champions.
