Hospice Pot luck invitation

Help_hospice.JPGThe Co-operating Church Hall, in Rodney Street, Wellsford, will be the venue for a Warkworth-Wellsford Hospice fundraiser this month.

A pot luck dinner will be held on Thursday, June 18, starting at 6pm.
Organiser Joan Butland says entertainment will be provided by Haggis Henderson and Pat McDonald. Guests are asked to bring $10 and a plate of food (either dessert or main) to share.

Mrs Butland, 83, has been supporting the hospice for more than 12 years, doing a regular shift in the Wellsford shop, as well as helping to organise community fundraisers.

Wellsford shop manager Sandy Dodd thanked the community for organising the annual dinner. Money raised helps pay for nurses who care for terminally ill patients and their families.

“It also means we can afford to bring specialist staff such as oncologists to the area,” she says.

Mrs Butland hopes that people from Warkworth and surrounding areas will support the occasion, and carpooling will be organised if numbers warrant.
Info: Joan Butland 423 8203 or to pre-purchase tickets from the Hospice Shop, phone 423 9578.
