Seniornet moves to Kaiwaka

seniornet_1.JPGSeniornet Mangawhai has a new home – at Kaiwaka.

The organisation is sharing the main road premises of Family Support Services and hopes that the move will lead to an increase in membership.

Coordinator Sheila Ballard says that existing members seem happy to make the short drive from Mangawhai to further their study and there has been interest shown by potential new members from Kaiwaka and Maungaturoto.

“We tried hard to stay in Mangawhai, but failed to find anywhere suitable at a low rental when we decided that we needed to move from Findlay St,” Sheila says.

“The new venue has more usable space and fits in well with the services offered by Family Support.”

Seniornet offers a range of computer courses to the over-50s starting at $25 for a four- week basic course. Membership costs $20 or $45 for a couple. Seniornet also runs seminars on topics such as digital photography, file and folder management, and general PC housekeeping.

Seniornet chief executive Grant Sidaway, from Wellington, will give a talk about the Seniornet movement at The Club, Molesworth Drive, on November 27. Both members and non-members are welcome, and there will be a $5 charge.

Info: Phone Sheila Ballard on 431 4305 or 431 2220.
