Wellsford meeting calls for Supercity boundary change
While the Government may have drawn the Supercity boundaries, it’s Wellsford that is preparing to draw the battlelines.
About 300 people packed the Wellsford Community Centre on Monday evening, September 28, to discuss the new local government boundaries once Rodney District Council is dissolved in October next year.

Boundary change? No chance, says Carter
The northern boundary of the Supercity is a “done deal”, according to Northland MP John Carter.
Commenting on the resolution passed at the Wellsford meeting, Mr Carter said the Government had made its decision to accept the Auckland Regional Council boundaries as the new Supercity boundary and that wasn’t going to change.
He said although the Local Government Commission (LGC) had been given the authority to tinker with the southern boundary, it had no authority to change the northern.

Plan sets development rules
Future growth and development in Mangawhai will be the subject of a meeting at the Mangawhai Domain Hall on Saturday, October 31.
The meeting is being organised by Kaipara District Council to discuss the proposed District Plan, the primary document that manages land use and development within Kaipara.
