Cat de-sexing offer

If you are thinking of getting your cat de-sexed now’s a good time to get the job done.

Wellsford Vet Centre and Coast to Coast Vets have got together with the Humane Society to cut the cost of spaying or neutering cats from July to mid-September.

Mangawhai’s Megan Constable, who rescues stray cats and dogs and re-homes them, says that it can cost well over $100 to have a female cat de-sexed, which is one of the reasons why she has found homes for more than 140 cats and kittens abandoned over the last year.

“But from July to mid-September, at these participating vets, it will only cost $37.50 for a female and $27.50 for a male cat, so we hope that anyone considering this option will take advantage of the offer,” Megan says.
