Farm women given budgeting advice

Women in the dairy industry will be given tips and tools to take charge of their financial planning, during a workshop in Whangarei this month.

The Building Your Farm Budget workshop will be run by the Dairy Womens Network. It is one in a series of seminars designed to provide dairying women with the skills and knowledge to create a budget and cashflow, review their cash situation, and benchmark their business against others.

Network general manager Lynda Clark says the value that budgeting can add to a farmer’s business can’t be ignored, especially when it comes to making informed decisions. “It doesn’t have to be complicated,” she says.

Guest speaker will be former rural banking manager and ex-farm consultant Rebecca Rowe, who has a wide range of experience in the agricultural sector, particularly in the area of financial analysis and budgeting.

The Whangarei workshop will be held at Fonterra’s Jordan Valley Farm Conference Room, Jordan Valley Road, on March 18. Info: www.womenindairying.org.nz
