Coast surf clubs dominate competition

The neighbouring Hibiscus Coast surf clubs of Red Beach and Orewa have emerged as the top two clubs in competition following the first two inter-club surf carnivals of the season.

Red Beach, dominant at the first carnival of the season at Waipu Cove, repeated its run of success when the second carnival was held at Mangawhai Heads on December 3. Orewa finished second to Red Beach at each of the outings.

Whangaparaoa golf blooms

Outstanding performances by three women members of Whangaparaoa Golf Club helped the club to become North Harbour champions last month, winning the annual Rose Bowl competition.
