Mahurangi College cemented its name as the top school in underwater hockey.

The Mahurangi College Senior A underwater hockey team won gold from the regional championship in Tauranga, after a hard-fought final with Glendowie College.

The team made ripples with its performance, winning all seven of its games, scoring 47 goals and conceding just one.

A total of 16 teams competed for the championship titles in the Senior Girls and Senior Open grades.

Meanwhile, 15 Mahurangi players have been selected for the northern representative trial squad.
