Introducing – Aroma Café Restaurant & Bistro

Big changes are underway for Quince Café, which will shortly become Aroma Café & Bistro under a new owner.

This will mean new décor, new menus, evening opening hours and a lunch delivery service for the café, which is located at 10 Elizabeth Street in Warkworth.

Also new is barista Anoushka Kemp, who has already taken up front-of-house duties.

Anoushka has been a barista for 10 years, working previously in cafes in Auckland and New Plymouth.

She is delighted to join Aroma where she will be taking up a junior manager role.

She says Aroma is an exciting place to be right now with the new owner eager to change menu items on a regular basis, always giving customers the opportunity to try something new alongside more traditional fare.

For example, for breakfast customers can go for something familiar such as eggs benedict or pancakes, or perhaps try something a little quirkier such as mince on toast with poached eggs.

And at night, Aroma is planning theme nights featuring different ethnic foods such as Indian, Mexican and Italian, with appropriate lighting and music.

Anoushka is expecting the planned delivery service to be a real hit with locals who can’t escape their desks at lunchtime but still want to sample the café’s delicious range of sandwiches, wraps, rolls, savouries and salads.

Anoushka’s personal favourite is the chicken sandwich, which features a big chicken breast and comes with fresh salad and pesto.

“It has everything I love,” she says.

Meanwhile, serving a perfect cup of coffee is Anoushka’s speciality. She says the trick is to get the milk just right – velvety and smooth with no bubbles.

“People really appreciate it when you give them a really good cup of coffee,” she says. “It’s one of the real joys of the job.”
