Directors, Richard Worker, Jessica O’Dea, Katie Self and Nicolene du Toit have been in practice together on the Hibiscus Coast for many years. Their values have aligned and inspired the creation of The Legal Team – a vibrant new practice defined by practical and expert legal advice.

Bringing legal services down to earth and making solicitors more approachable is one of the key drivers behind the creation of their new law firm.

Richard Worker has lived and worked on the Hibiscus Coast for almost 20 years and in that time has served the community being the ‘go to’ lawyer for Age Concern Rodney. He is also on the board of Destination Orewa Beach. Richard is known for giving practical, legal advice in all areas of the law.

Jessica O’Dea is a local from Millwater, working in Orewa for 6 years prior to creating The Legal Team with Richard, Katie and Nicolene. Jessica is a general practice lawyer, servicing all types of clients, large and small. She enjoys working with complex commercial arrangements and is efficient and pragmatic in her approach to achieving results for her clients.

Katie Self lives on the Hibiscus Coast, and has extensive experience in property, corporate/commercial law, specialising in residential conveyancing, commercial property, corporate restructuring and succession planning, business and share sale & purchase, franchising, terms of trade, shareholders agreements, refinancing and commercial leasing. She is meticulous and pragmatic, taking great care of her clients.

Nicolene du Toit was admitted as a solicitor, notary public and conveyancer in South Africa and migrated to New Zealand in 1995. After re-qualifying, she has been serving clients in New Zealand since 1999. She was a partner of North Harbour Law for 14 years before joining the The Legal Team in 2021. Nicolene is a general practice lawyer and a Notary Public.

The Legal Team have been joined by new lawyer Carol Wang, a local from Millwater, a Mandarin speaker.

The Legal Team also includes Legal Executives Michelle Paul, Sharynn Walmsley, Jade Harrewijn, Louise Turner and a full support team.
