Cr John Watson says staff will recommend a six-month only ban on set netting at Arkles Bay (HM October 1) and he will have “a huge battle” on his hands to get a permanent ban, in line with the community’s wishes.

The final decision will be made by Council’s Regulatory and Bylaws Committee this week (October 13).

The Hibiscus & Bays Local Board will make a presentation in favour of a year-round ban to that meeting.
