Council seeks views on proposed Mangawhai library

Kaipara District councillors will attend the Mangawhai Tavern Market this Saturday, March 20, seeking the public’s view on a proposed new library. Kaipara District Council says it has outgrown its current library facilities in Mangawhai and wants to gauge public support for a new library and gather feedback on where it should go.

The results of the library consultation will inform Council’s Long Term Plan (2021-2031) – Towards a Better Kaipara.

The proposed library would be funded through a mix of development contributions, financial contributions and loans. Full details are on page 48 of  the Long Term Plan (LTP) consultation document available at www.kaipara.govt.nz, plus information on how to make a submission.

The public has until April 1 to make submissions on the LTP. Councillors attending the market will also be available to talk about other aspects of the LTP.
