Funding available

The Department of Conservation is calling for applications for its Community Fund.

The fund is directed towards practical projects aimed at conserving New Zealand’s indigenous biodiversity.

To qualify, projects must be focused on protecting and restoring NZ’s natural habitats, and/or halting the decline of and restoring healthy, sustainable populations of native species.

About $8 million will be available for distribution in this round, and funds will be allocated in two categories – small grants ($20,000 or less) and large grants ($20,000 or more).

The fund opens February 25 and applications are due before 5pm on March 22.
