Two men have been charged with dealing class A drugs following a search warrant at a Warkworth motel yesterday.
Police say the local community had raised concerns about the activities of certain residents at the motel over the past few months and an investigation was launched.
This culminated in searches of a number of units where evidence of offending was obtained.
The men are aged 23 and 40.
Rodney Area Commander Inspector Mark Fergus says Warkworth Police are working closely with the motel managers to prevent such incidents in the future and a number of occupants have been evicted.
“There was a regular flow of information from community members that enabled detectives to build up a picture of the illegal activities and to secure evidence,” he says.
“I encourage the community to continue reporting suspicious activity, either directly to Warkworth Police or anonymously by ringing Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
