A long-term community project to renovate and rejuvenate Wellsford Plunket is bearing fruit, with mums and babies now able to enjoy bright new décor, furniture and facilities. Recent donations and upgrades include $6700 from an auction, dinner and dance held in May, $9600 from Rodney Local Board for a heat pump and shade sails, and an art easel and materials from the local Mike Pero office, which also donated $5000 towards building improvements last year. Franchise owner Andrew Steen and his team are pictured visiting Plunket last month to view the improvements and check out the artistic talents of playgroup members.
