Logo chosen

A Tapora farmhand has created the winning logo design for Wellsford’s OWL Community Hub.
Brendon Gear says he aimed for a sleek, modern design to highlight the radical transformation of the old Wellsford library (OWL) into a flourishing community space.

“The stripes within the body symbolise the members of the community being embraced and nurtured by the centre,” he says.

Altogether there were 45 entries in the logo competition. Applicants ranged from youngsters to adults and from professional graphic designers to those who just wanted to “give it a go”.

Community members voted for their favourite logo, while the OWL Foundation Group picked the winning design from the top three most popular choices. Brendon came second in the popular vote, netting him a prize of $300, but was the first choice for the Foundation Group.
