A number of top sailors will navigate the waters at Algies Bay between March 23 and 25 at the 2018 New Zealand Moth Class National Championships.
The event will be hosted by the Sandspit Yacht Club with racing to begin at 10am on the Friday.
Those competing include Olympic bronze medallist Sam Meech, Luna Rossa team member Pierluigi De Felice and defending champion Russ Evans.
Also on the list are Algies Bay sailors Graeme and Logan Sutherland, Tom Baker of Wellsford and Volvo Ocean Race competitor Brad Marsh.
The moth boats are foiling dinghy’s meaning they fly above the water at high speeds in a similar way to the Americas Cup boats.
