Looking back

The International Federation of Business and Professional Women was founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1930. The first NZ chapter met for the first time in 1939. The organisation currently has affiliates in 95 countries, spread across five continents.

“Each woman, as a citizen, must bring to the national policy of her own country, the contribution of forward-looking and constructive thought followed by determined action. Each woman must dedicate herself to protect and promote the interests of all other women in business and in the professions.” – BPW International founding president Dr Lena Madesin Phillips.
