Service centre decision

Auckland Council will make a decision about the sale of the Orewa Service Centre and other properties at a meeting this week, on Tuesday, May 15.

The potential sale of the local service centre, at 50 Centreway Road, Orewa, was first made public in Hibiscus Matters’ March 1 edition.

The site is valued at nearly $29 million and the proceeds of sale would be used to fund the creation of three Council service hubs including one in Albany.

Council staff are recommending that the sale proceed, despite strong opposition from the Hibiscus & Bays Local Board.
