The Oaks Café has done it again, winning the second monthly Great Warkworth Scone Bake Off with their cream cheese, spring onion and cheddar cheese scone.
Oaks’ baker Gui won the inaugural award last month, but this time it was baker Janeen’s savoury sensation that took top honours.
Close second was Let it Brew’s ensaymada scone with butter cream and cheese.
The bake-offs are held on the first Saturday of each month, with nine bakeries participating so far.
