Three out of the nine trustees of the Hockey Hibiscus Trust won awards at recent Sport North Harbour and Harbour Hockey Association awards.

At the Sport North Harbour awards dinner on November 15, the National Hockey League North Harbour men’s side was named Team of the Year – co-winners with the women’s side. Hockey Hibiscus trustees Dave Kosoof, Bronwyn Ellison and Merv Huxford are all part of the men’s team, as head coach, manager and assistant manager respectively.

Merv also received the Sport Acknowledgement Award-Hockey and earlier in November, Dave Kosoof won the Coach of the Year award at the North Harbour Hockey Association awards.

Merv says it is a rare thing for hockey to win team of the year over all the other North Harbour sporting codes.
