Around 25 people riding bikes around Te Ara Tahuna (Orewa Estuary walk/cycleway) is nothing unusual, but this group really stood out.

Riders and bikes taking part in the night-ride on June 24, run by the Thumbs Up Adventure Club, were decorated in lights of all kinds including glow sticks, tinsel and even flashing bike gloves.

Participants ranged from retirees, to children supported and encouraged by their parents. Cars tooted, passers-by waved and photos were taken as the riders passed through Millwater and Orewa.
