Dairy Flat Bakery took the gold award and Bakers Oven in Whangaparaoa took silver in the Potato Top category of the recent Bakels Supreme Pie Awards.
Baker Bunnarith Sao of Dairy Flat Bakery has won numerous awards for his pies before – this year as well as the gold for potato top, he won gold for his gourmet blueberry, apricot and apple pie and silver in the diced steak and gravy category.
Eddie Grooten of Dad’s Pies in Silverdale won gold in the Commercial/wholesale category for that Kiwi favourite – a mince and cheese pie.
