Country greats come to Wellsford

Limited tickets are available for Eddie Low and Kevin Greaves’ country music show in Wellsford.

Two of New Zealand’s most celebrated country music singers will be performing at the Wellsford RSA this Sunday, May 2, at 2pm.

Headliner Eddie Low has returned to New Zealand after 40 years of touring internationally.

Eddie has performed and toured around the world with Johnny Cash, Charlie Pride, Buck Owens, Tom Hall, Freddie Fender and Kenny Rogers.

His peers describe him as a “voice in a million” with a silky-smooth country ballad style.

His accolades include a NZ Order of Merit and the Country Legend Award from the Kiwi National Country Awards in 2009, as well as two platinum albums.

He was born blind and spent many years at the Auckland Blind Institute learning to play instruments.

In Wellsford, Eddie is joined by Nashville recording artist Kevin Greaves who was the NZ Benny Award winner in 2017.

His deep baritone voice, bordering on bass, caught the attention of studios in the United States where he toured for 15 years.

Kevin says the pair have performed a number of popular shows in Warkworth and have been trying to organise a show in Wellsford for some time.

Tickets are $20 and are available by calling the Wellsford RSA on 423 8172. Roast lunch is served from 12.30pm for $12.
