Dog regos due

Dog registration fees paid by August 1 will benefit from cheaper, “early bird” rates.

This year dog owners across the region also have the option of paying the fee by direct bank transfer.

The Auckland region has more than 102,000 registered dogs. Registration fees contribute to animal management, including a 24-hour a day response to dog incidents and attacks, patrols, animal shelters and adoptions, dog safety education and reuniting lost dogs with owners.

In the last calendar year the Animal Management team received more than 40,000 requests for service for issues such as barking, roaming stock and animal welfare.

Renewal notices are now being sent out. Info: www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/dogs or vist the Council service centre in Centreway Road, Orewa.
