Northern Gateway Toll Road closed for maintenance

The Northern Gateway Toll Road (SH1 between the Silverdale interchange and Puhoi) will be closed in both directions next week for maintenance.

The closure will affect the Johnstone Hill tunnels and toll road in both directions on the nights of Sunday, October 1, and Monday, October 2.

The maintenance work will be carried out between 9pm and 5am, when there are lower traffic volumes minimise disruption to road users.

Motorists are asked to follow the sign posted detour routes by using the Hibiscus Coast Highway, between Puhoi and the Silverdale interchange. This will add about 15minutes to journeys.

A planned closure earlier this month was postponed due to poor weather and this Sunday’s work remains weather dependent.

The Transport Agency apologises for any inconvenience and thanks motorists for their patience during the works.
