Prizes included $500 cash, an all-weather golf bag and a $200 dinner for two at Rothko.
The Warkworth Golf Club and the Omaha Beach Club joined forces to hold the inaugural two-day Matakana Classic golf tournament last month.
It was held on both courses on both days, allowing 170 players to take part.
There was a prize pool of $10,000, drawing players from as far as Tauranga and Hamilton.
Organiser Athalie McHardy says it was a successful inaugural event and expects it will be held again next year. Next time, she is aiming for 240 players.
She hopes the event will mark further collaboration between the Omaha and Warkworth clubs.
“The two courses are completely different so it is a perfect set-up for a multi-course event,” she says.
The main sponsors were RE/MAX Warkworth and Jarden Investments, and supporting sponsors were Woody by Design and Shoo Away.
The Omaha club is now taking entries for its Mixed Pro Am held from March 12-14, while the Warkworth club is taking entries for the Barfoot and Thompson Pro Am on March 15.
