Landowners close to the proposed route for the Penlink Road have raised issues, appealing the designation of the route. Both appeals come from developers with land off East Coast Road.
An Auckland Transport (AT) spokesperson says that the appeals – from Green McCahill Holdings and Weiti Developments (developer of the Weiti Block in Stillwater) – relate to a number of matters, but that the main issue is access to their developments.
The spokesperson says that Hugh Green Ltd has also registered an interest in the appeal, raising concerns related to the Public Works Act.
AT is currently working with both appellants and Hugh Green Ltd to see if agreements can be reached via Environment Court mediation.
If mediation is unsuccessful, an Environment Court hearing is scheduled for this month or next.
