This year’s Rodders Beach Festival in Orewa, on January 29 and 30 filled Orewa Reserve with the sights and sounds of hot rods.
Live bands and dancing also featured, and many Rodders were dressed in 1950s style.
The day before was an anxious time for organisers, with Covid-19 fears in Orewa after two people visited several local stores.
Everyone taking part, as well as local businesses that benefit, were hugely relieved that the event went ahead, especially as car owners travelled from all over the North Island for the popular festival.
The beach festival is a reunion of many old friends – and new ones are made as cars are inspected and discussed.
