Amberlea visitor risk assessed

CHT chief executive Carriann Hall says Auckland Regional Public Health is currently assessing if there is any risk to visitors to its Amberlea rest home in Algies Bay, and it will notify visitors directly if needed.

The message comes after one staff member, who was already self-isolating as a precaution, was confirmed to have Covid-19 yesterday evening (August 26).

Staff members who worked closely with the infected staff member are now also self-isolating.

Ms Hall says CHT has since bolstered staffing levels at Amberlea to ensure it can continue to deliver care to residents.

All staff and residents were tested today for Covid-19.

Ms Hall says there are currently 67 residents and 73 per cent of them have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

“Residents and staff are staying calm and safe at the moment and everyone is being supportive and kind to each other,” Ms Hall says.
