Tapora planting day

Tapora School students and local residents dug deep and planted 1350 native trees and plants in wetland on the Taporapora Peninsula on Friday, May 3.

The planting session was a collaboration between the Tapora Land & Coast Care group and Trees for Survival, an environmental education programme that’s been running since 1991.

Tree planting is one of a range of community conservation activities carried out on the peninsula to control pests, improve biodiversity and restore the environment.
