This year’s Hibiscus Rodders Beach Festival raised $83,000 for the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter service.
The cheque was handed over on Sunday, June 8. Organisers say the donation will directly support life-saving operations across the Rodney and Hibiscus Coast areas.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support from Rodders,” Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust sponsorship manager Paul Yates says.
“This passionate community continues to blow us away year after year. Their generosity and dedication make a real difference, and we’re thrilled that this year’s fundraising reached an incredible $83,000 – our best result to date. We can’t thank them enough for helping keep us in the air and saving lives.”
Long-time major sponsor Zane Dykman, of local company Zebuild, was once again credited for making the event possible. “Zane has been a major sponsor for more than five years, and we couldn’t run the event without him,” Rodders Beach Festival Organiser Sharon Morris says.
As part of the festival, the winner of the ZE Gold Coast trip was also announced. Jemma Walker from Warkworth’s win includes flights and accommodation or a $3000 travel voucher.
Organisers extended heartfelt thanks to all sponsors and supporters who helped make this year’s event such a success. “It’s going to save a lot of lives,” Sharon says. “That’s what it’s all about.”
