Millwater’s hockey and sports facility, opened in 2019, is paying dividends for young talent, with six Hibiscus Coast players selected for this year’s North Harbour Hockey under-18 representative squads.

The facility, which serves as a training base for many budding players, has also seen a surge in junior participation. Since its first primary school hockey competition in 2019, the number of teams has grown from 11, to 47 in 2025.

In another boost for community sport, the facility has recently added a new Pickleball court.
