Hibiscus Coast Director of Cricket, Ramesh Lakmal, has led his third successful tour to Sri Lanka, following earlier trips with the region’s Under-19 and Under-16 teams. This time, it was the Hibiscus Over-40s team who took to the international stage, playing five matches that ended with three wins and two losses.
The tour wasn’t just about cricket. It also offered players a rich and authentic cultural experience, deepening their connection with Sri Lanka through sport, camaraderie, and shared passion, says club captain Gair McSkimming.
In a special highlight, New Zealand High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Hon. David Pine, met with the teams during the tour. He commended the players for using the game they love to strengthen the friendship and sporting ties between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
