Years of experience in cleaning and caring for all sorts of properties meant that setting up his own business, Mahu Property Services, was the logical next step for Dane Vazey.
He spent four-and-a-half years managing Squeegee Boys in Silverdale and in the past has also been managing groundskeeper at St Cuthbert’s College and an abseil window cleaner on Auckland high-rises.
He says while that was fun when he was 20 “and fear wasn’t in the brain”, these days, it’s safety first when he’s up a ladder cleaning windows, soft-washing walls or applying roof treatments.
Dane has lived in Mahurangi since falling in love with the area on holiday nine years ago.
Since then, he’s thrown himself into local life, buying a house in Warkworth, playing for Warkworth AFC’s senior Oysters team and working for a spell at Sawmill Brewery before going to Squeegee Boys.
Now he’s keen to bring his years of expertise in all things cleaning closer to home, offering a range of services such as eco-friendly window cleaning inside and out, house washing, water blasting, gutter cleaning and roof treatments to get rid of moss and mould.
Dane says every property is different with its own special requirements, so he offers individual quotes to ensure the best price.
“It’s very bespoke – any company with standard pricing tends to have a million terms, conditions and hidden extras,” he says. “I prefer to turn up, look at a property and provide a quote so there will be no nasty surprises. I give you the final price on the first day.”
