Shining a light on skin cancer

October is Melanoma Awareness Month with free spot checks around Auckland.

Melanoma NZ chief executive Andrea Newland says melanoma is preventable, and if recognised and treated early enough, it is almost always curable.

“Unfortunately, too many people aren’t checking or protecting their skin, and we want to change that.” Spot check events are 10am to 4pm.

No appointment necessary. First-come, first-served. Up to three spots checked. October 3, Westfield Manukau; October 4, Westfield St Lukes; October 5, Westfield Albany; October 10-12, Westfield Newmarket.
