Hell of a fundraiser for Cancer Society NZ

Runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters made the Hell on the Hill fundraiser a success.
This year kids 12 and under were able to take part.

The Hell on the Hill charity run was held around the Omaha Quarry loop on September 14 (MM, Aug 4), bringing together an energetic crowd of runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters to raise funds for Cancer Society NZ.

It was the event’s second year and thanks to strong community support exceeded expectations, raising $1736.48 – well beyond its original goal of $1000.

Event organiser Heidi Yap says on the day they had an awesome turnout.

“We were blown away by the incredible determination of our participants – kids showing off their fitness and enthusiasm, a few incredible individuals smashing 30-plus laps, and everyone else giving their all.

“Whether walking, running, volunteering, or cheering, the day was filled with laughter, encouragement, and community spirit. A big round of applause to this year’s overall winners and all of our spot prize recipients.”

Yap extended special thanks to the event’s sponsors – Four Square Snells Beach, MYO Health & Pilates, Inger Electrical and Plume Villas – whose generosity helped make the day possible.

“See you all again next year,” Yap says
