New board on three-year starting line

The first board members representing the new Northern Rodney subdivision are Wellsford’s Colin Smith (left) and Puhoi’s Paul Manton.

Members of the newly-elected Rodney Local Board gathered in Warkworth last week to undertake training in areas such as governance, legal and ethical principles, the specific powers and responsibilities of a local board, and how to manage board operations.

An inauguration ceremony will be held at the Helensville War Memorial Hall on Wednesday, November 5, from 1pm to 3pm. The public is welcome to attend.

The new board comprises: Lisa Whyte, Dairy Flat subdivision; Guy Wishart and Matt Ross, Kumeu; Paul Manton and Colin Smith, Northern Rodney; Mark Dennis and Geoff Upson, Southern Kaipara; Ivan Wagstaff and Tim Holdgate, Warkworth.

Greg Sayers was elected unopposed for a third term as the Rodney councillor on Auckland’s Governing Body.
