Northland’s three district councils have taken a major step toward overhauling how the region manages drinking water and wastewater, formally establishing an Elected Member Steering Group (EMSG) to guide the creation of a new water Council Controlled Organisation (CCO). The Far North, Whangārei and Kaipara district councils each confirmed the formation of the group at meetings a fortnight ago.
